Koofr is an EU-based company that is governed by EU laws and uses servers located inside the EU. It is for that reason that I call it an “EU-flavored cloud service.” You can use Koofr to upload files to the cloud, you can use Koofr to sync files across all your devices, you can use Koofr to share files with others. All the files you send to the cloud, all the files you sync, all the files you share, they’re stored someplace inside the EU.

Koofr can be used on multiple desktop and mobile platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux; Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
Koofr can connect to multiple cloud services: Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.

To start using Koofr, you need to sign up for an account. A free account, which comes with limited functionality, gives you 2GB of cloud storage space. To get more storage space and to enjoy unlimited sharing functionality, upgrade to a paid plan. Plans are available for 10GB, 25GB, 100GB, and 500GB.

To create a new Koofr account you must visit the Koofr.eu website and enter your email address. A message will be sent to your inbox, message that contains an activation link. Click that link to finish setting up your Koofr account.

When you access your Koofr account for the first time, you will be presented with a Welcome dialog and a quick tour. The tour tells you that you can upload files and folders with a simple drag and drop, that you can easily manage your content, that you can bookmark important stuff, that you can share files with others, that you can use Koofr with existing cloud storage accounts, that you can use Koofr on your desktop and on your mobile.

To start using Koofr on your Windows PC, you must run the Koofr client and you must log into your Koofr account. On its interface, Koofr displays two elements:
Places – choose a local folder and connect it to Koofr; all the files inside that folder will be uploaded to the cloud. Visit Koofr.eu, sign into your account, and you can view, manage, and share those files.
Syncs – pick a local folder and it will be synced with all your other devices. By using the cloud to sync a folder, Koofr allows you to access the files inside that folder when your computer is offline.

Koofr puts a nice EU twist on cloud-based functionality. Use it to upload files to the cloud, sync files across your devices, share files with others, and manage your files from the web platform. All your data is securely stored inside the EU.

Pros

Koofr is available for multiple platforms. Koofr can connect to multiple cloud services. You can easily sign up for a free account; you can easily upgrade to a paid plan. Use the desktop client to create Places and Syncs. Use the web platform to view, manage, and share files. Koofr uses servers inside the EU and abides to EU legislation.

Cons

None that I could think of.
